Neurofeedback and Biofeedback

Neurofeedback and biofeedback are excellent low impact but high return treatment options.  I have found that biofeedback helps people learn how to consciously interact with their fight or flight response in a very concrete and simple way.  Once you learn how to communicate with your heart, it's easier to remain calm in situations that used to be problematic.  These patients learn how to help me raise and lower their medication doses to decrease side effects and make medications work better.  The HeartMath Institute offers a program that uses a heart monitor and breathing pacer to help you learn how to control parts of your nervous system that maybe were tough to regulate.

Neurofeedback is such an exciting technology and treatment method!  Luckily, I have access to a small group of experts who have been in intense training programs for years.  They have treated quite a few patients and I am happy to be able to refer people to them and get seen quickly.  They use the latest and greatest equipment and are in close contact with some of the country's best neurofeedback providers.  Medication selection is augmented with their work.  Neurofeedback has some intriguing and effective treatments for ADD/ADHD for people who would like their children treated without stimulant medications.
